Thank you for your interest in Sussex Christian School! For more than 65 years, SCS has partnered with families in and around Sussex County, NJ to provide an excellent, Christ-centered education where classroom instruction is aligned with what is being taught at home.

Children spend around 1,000 hours in school every year. That means between kindergarten and 8th grade alone, your children will spend nearly 9,000 hours on their elementary and middle school campus. The children they play with and the teachers they learn from at school will have a significant impact on the way they see the world and interact with it. We have seen firsthand that when the values parents teach at home are reinforced at school, children grow confident in their faith and flourish in an environment where they are safe to explore and ask questions.

Teachers truly are the core of a school, and our passionate and dedicated teachers provide excellent and engaging classroom experiences from PreK-8th grade. Whether it’s creative approaches to learning in elementary classrooms or projects and exploratory opportunities for older students, our curriculum is meaningfully designed to engage and nurture the curiosity of students as they grow. Our school has a rich history and heritage of committed parents, grandparents, friends, and family members who have come around to support the students at SCS. Whether it’s regular volunteering and participation in school events or financial support for Christian education through our Stallion Opportunity Fund, the school community is broad and committed to the success of students attending SCS. Let your child experience a day at SCS!

If you and your family are considering a switch to Sussex Christian School, we encourage you to sign up your child for a student shadow day!

Shadows are available for children in grades 1-8. Children are partnered with a friend to care for them and show them around throughout the day.

While your child visits, parents are encouraged to come for a campus tour! To sign up for a tour and student shadow day, contact the Admissions office by emailing admissions@sussexchristianschool.org.

The best way to see if SCS is right for your family is to visit! On your visit, you’ll meet our Administrator and see our classrooms in action. You’ll hear about our academic programs, athletics, and the arts, and if the weather is nice, you’ll see our outdoor classrooms. Schedule your tour online, or by emailing admissions@sussexchristianschool.org.

After much thought and prayer, you have decided that Christian education is the best path for your child to take to live fully for God. Now, it’s time to get your application started.

To complete your application, please visit our online admissions portal. You will be prompted to create an account, and can then submit an application for each child.

You will have the option to save your progress and log in at any time to complete the application.

The online application includes several sections that help us get to know your child and your family. After the online forms are completed, we also require a Pastor’s Recommendation (one per family) and a School Recommendation (for children in grades 1-8). These will be sent to your Pastor and School automatically when you complete the application.

We also request that you provide a copy of report cards and a copy of the child’s birth certificate. There will be an option to upload these documents with your application, or, you may send them directly to our office.

Start Your Application

After your application is fully submitted, the Admissions Committee, comprised of one School Board member and one Admissions Committee member, will conduct this interview at our school. We’ll use this time to get to know your family and allow you to ask and answer questions about SCS to ensure that it’s a good fit.

It is recommended that both parents or guardians attend along with any child who is entering 5th through 8th grade. Students entering grades Preschool through 4th grade are not required to attend but may do so if the parents wish them to do so.

Your full application will be reviewed a final time after the family interview, and you will receive an admissions decision. Accepted families will then complete a series of paperwork to confirm enrollment and register new students. During this time, you will also set up your tuition account.
