Tell us about your past experience.
I started teaching private music lessons in 2014 and have been teaching general music since 2017.
What brought you to SCS?
There was an opening for a music teacher and I kept seeing it over and over again online so I called and got an interview. God opened up the doors and made a way for me to be here at SCS! I truly believe this is where God wants me to be.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I love sharing my love of music with my students! I love that we worship God together through our voices, instruments, and talents.
What about Christian education excites and energizes you the most?
I love being in a Christian community and I love being able to be free about sharing my faith and being a good Christian role model to my students.
Tell us about your testimony.
I grew up going to church, but as a teenager and young adult I stepped away from my faith. I got married, had two children, and was pregnant with my third when my life crashed down on me. I was going through the hardest time of my life, the hardest trial I have ever been through. I was depressed, anxious, angry, and honestly a little scared about the uncertainty around me. I looked for answers everywhere, I tried to fix my problems, tried running away from them, but nothing felt right, and nothing I did was working. One night when I couldn’t bear anymore, I cried out to God. I surrendered my life and my heart to him, fully accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and prayed for wisdom and guidance. And the peace that God gave me that night was something that I had never felt before, beyond my own understanding. The word talks about His peace, His shalom, and that was what I had! I was born again!
After a few months of prayer, worship, reading the word and truly putting God first, I began to see He was changing my life! All praise and glory to God!
Through this trial, my faith grew, and God worked through me to help people around me. I thank God for every trial in my life, because He uses it all for good! Praise God!
