Welcome, Mrs. Heather Bonney
Meet Mrs. Heather Bonney, our new School Librarian!
Tell us about your past experience:
For the last 20+ years, I’ve been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, helping schools and families educate some of the most amazing and most challenging children. I have worked all over Sussex and Warren, even Morris county, mostly in public schools. I love watching kids learn and being a part of that process. I have learned that no student is beyond reach, you just have to get creative sometimes to understand how to teach them.
What brought you to SCS?
My daughter Mattison is in first grade. We joined SCS last year for kindergarten and we are so grateful.
What is your favorite thing about the library?
I love the idea that reading takes you on adventures. It doesn’t just provide information, but helps to spark imagination.
Why are you passionate about Christian education?
I have worked in public school for many years. I love the fact that Christian education allows us to tell the truth. God is in everything, so no matter what you are teaching, there is a connection there to our Creator. Making those connections, that’s what excites me.
Tell us about your testimony.
I was 20 years old when God finally broke through to my heart. I was a wild and crazy teen with no real knowledge of Truth. He found me and revealed Himself to me in ways I could not deny. I started reading the Bible and was so amazed with who Jesus really was. I fell in love and still am today! He penetrates every area of my life and I hope to honor Him in all that I do
Tell us about your family.
I am married to one pretty cool dude (for 22 years) and have one amazing daughter this side of heaven. She is 6. We just lost our last cat, of 3, who all lived to be around 20 years old! We also have 6 chickens who like to follow us around – I would say they are pets 🙂
Tell us about some of your hobbies. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Are there any activities or hobbies that your family enjoys doing together?
I love eating real food and get such joy out of making nourishing foods for my family. We pretty much do everything together. Whether we are jumping on the trampoline or making up silly songs and jokes, doing puzzles or watching supercross, crafting art projects or exploring nature, we cherish our time together and turn even a simple trip to the store into a family adventure.
