Welcome, Mrs. Lisa Legg
Meet Mrs. Lisa Legg, our new gym teacher!
Tell us about your past experience:
I started my teaching career in a place called New Town, ND. I spent 2 years there experiencing life on the edge of an Native American Indian Reservation in rural America.
I followed that experience with a couple years of graduate school at The Pennsylvania State University main campus
The remainder of my career was spent at Wallkill Valley Regional High School where I taught for about 30 years. I began as a Math teacher and about half way through switched to the Physical Education/Health department.
What brought you to SCS?
I felt that I was led to this position. It seemed to be a perfect match for my skill set. I was intrigued by the Christian School environment, as I have been in public school all my life/career.
What is your favorite thing about teaching PE/Gym?
I love seeing watching students grow in their abilities to move, learn skills, play sports or games.
What about Christian education excites and energizes you the most?
I like the idea of actually having the freedom to share my gifts and talents. I trust that I will learn a great deal in this environment.
Tell us about your testimony.
Briefly, I grew up Episcopalian. As an adult some things happened in my life that challenged me to re-evaluate my spiritual life. I liked the simplicity of the non-denominational Bible believing church. In time I accepted Christ as my Savior. I try to live in a Christ-like manner.
Tell us about your family.
I am married to my husband Joe Legg. This is a second marriage for both of us. I have a daughter who is currently serving in the Navy. My husband has 2 adult children who are married and have families of their own.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Its safe to say we both like to stay active with a variety of physical activities as well as the never ending house projects. On the quiet side I like to read and do a variety of crafty things.
Share a fun fact about yourself.
I can’t think of anything at the moment…… I still love to hone my skills on the boogie board.
